I was born and raised in the south of Vietnam for the first 19 years of my life. Upon receiving the ASEAN Undergraduate scholarship, I moved to Singapore for my studies and stayed in this amazing country for 9 years. I subsequently moved from Singapore to USA to pursue my Ph.D. in Communication with a full scholarship.
I received both my Bachelor of Social Sciences, First Class Honours (2014) and Master of Arts (2017) from the Department of Communications and New Media (CNM), National University of Singapore (NUS), and also briefly worked there as a Research Assistant. I worked as a Research Assistant, then Senior Research Assistant at Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) for more than 2 years (2017-2019). I am currently doing my Ph.D. at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, Los Angeles, California.
I am passionate about communication research and have conducted fieldwork in both Singapore and Vietnam.
I use both English and Vietnamese every day, and I try to learn Chinese and Japanese whenever I can. I love fiction books and play the piano [but I currently don't have access to one]. I used to be a heavy book hoarder, and I am forever a popular culture enthusiast.
